  • {tutorial} Frill-tastic Apron

If you love ruffles and frills, you’ll adore this apron! Done up in Lolita fashion, you can get the tutorial here.

  • Tutorials from Maureen Cracknell Handmade

If you follow many sewing blogs online, you’ve probably come across Maureen Cracknell Handmade, Maureen’s online creative journal. She’s full of great project ideas and includes well-written tutorials for nearly everything she makes. She involved with a variety of events and groups, including the current Craft Hope Project–Aprons for Haiti. She recently shared this tutorial for using four fat quarters to sew an apron.

Last she shared a tutorial using quarter-yard swathes of fabric; check it out for another fun apron with lots and lots of possibilities!

  • {tutorial} Standard full apron

Sometime it isn’t about the ruffles or the appliques, but just a good ol’ sturdy apron to keep the mess off you. That’s what these chef aprons are for. But really, you can do all sorts of things to make them more interesting.

    J. Caroline Creative offers up this tutorial to make one, but they also offer a variety of ribbons and trim to use with it.

What kinds of decorative treatment have you done on aprons? Rick-rack? Ribbons? Beads? Sequins? You could get a bit crazy with it, but so much fun!

  • {free pattern} Breakfast Club Apron

Originally featured in Where Women Cook, this apron pattern from Kimberbell Designs (of DIY Dish fame) is a free download.

The longer apron panel is pieced (oh the possibilities!) and has a cute fabric flower to add a little pizzazz to it. You could also add a little pocket or two. Cute!

What fabric would you want to make it with?

  • {tutorial} Glass Bottle Mini-Apron

You’ve probably seen the dish soap bottle apron, right? But have you seen an apron that fits a glass bottle? Adorable! Lori Holt of Bee In My Bonnet features a soda bottle apron tutorial today. She’s made hundreds!
