• Congratulations! Sandi Hudson – You are the winner!

AisforApronBKSandi Hudson is the winner of the book ‘A Is For Aprons’  by Nathalie Mornu.

I want to thank everyone who participated in this contest. I took all of your entries and used random.org to generate Sandi’s winning number.

I also want to thank Amanda at Lark Books, a division of Sterling Publishing Co. for providing  the book for my contest.

Below are some of the unusual and embarassing places you all have worn an apron. And remember: you can find other books like this at your local independent quilt and fabric retailer.

Sandi sent along her goofiest moment in an apron:   “It was quite a while ago but I don’t ever forget to remove my apron anymore! I was baking for a local baking contest and had been at it for hours. It was getting really late in the evening when I discovered I was missing some ingredient. Thinking the stores would close before I could get there I dashed out into the night. It wasn’t until the lady at the checkout mentioned my “night attire” that I realized I was still wearing my apron – still covered with the day’s efforts.”

Nancy said, ” The goofiest place I have worn an apron is to a cattle branding after cooking for the hands!”

Cathy said, ” The “strangest” place I ever wore an apron was at the ER. When an emergency arrives you aren’t quite aware of your attire.”

Jeannie said, ” I wore an apron every morning until I was in the car on the way to work because my kids use to find some way to mess me up in our getting ready in the morning routine. So once dressed, I put on my coverall apron until I was safely in the car. It also helped keep me clean if I was munching on my breakfast as I drove to work. One morning I forgot to take it off leaving the car and wore my apron into work.”

I’ll enter you in the contest to win the book, ‘A Is For Aprons’. The contest will end October 26. I’ll draw the winning name using random.org on October 27 and post it to Apronicity.

The Fabric Shop Network is proud to be a national sponsor of National Tie One on Day™. On the day before Thanksgiving, women across the country will be celebrating the day by wrapping a loaf of bread in an apron, tucking a prayer or a note of encouragement in the pocket, and then delivering the bundle to someone in need of physical or spiritual sustenance—or both. What could be nicer than receiving such a gift—and handmade at that?
